FabLab Safety
Why is safety so important in every workshop?
- To ensure all users have safety education and training
- To create a safe environment with ZERO incidents/ injuries
3-step procedure to follow in case of emergency:
- For ambulance or fire brigade, call 995
- Instruct them to enter Gate 1 (Main Entrance) along Dover Road
- Inform Campus Security by calling 6772-1234 for all emergencies and incident reporting.
Common rules to remember:
- Always wear long pants and covered shoes into any lab/ workshop
- Always abide by PPE requirements as can be seen on the tag on every machine
- Tie up all loose articles (necklaces, loose bangles, etc) and hair
- Never wear gloves when using any sort of drill (entanglement hazard)
- Never operate machinery when under drowsy medication/ alcohol or when you feel that you are unable to focus
